PDX comes to moroso
Moroso Motorsports Park, in conjunction with the Florida region of the SCCA, is bringing the speed and excitement of motorsports to those with a desire to experience road racing first hand - at the 10 turn, 2.25 Mile Moroso Motorsports Park Road Course August 11th & 12th.
"We've all of done the burnout at a red light, or taken that curve at more than the 'suggested speed', imagining (ourselves) as racers ... with the PDX events, you don’t have to dream anymore!" explains Tony Castaneira, one of the event's organizers.
The PDX event at Moroso provides an instructional environment for drivers who want to improve their driving skills and increase their enjoyment of driving the street car they already own, and true to the “run what ya brung” spirit of the early sportscar racers.
"All it takes to be a part is your street car, a valid license and a helmet," says Tony. "The PDX events are about you, the driver. Plenty of seat time, plenty of individual instruction and a ton of driving exercises make up a PDX; all of which is designed to educate you and make you more confident behind the wheel, both on the track and on the street."
Participants in Moroso's PDX course receive training that ranges from classtim and in-car training to “follow me” drills on the big track that effectively point out passing zones, speed limits, general driving techniques, and the proper "racing line", and each driver receives personal feedback at the end of each session.
That same PDX weekend, the Florida region of the SCCA will be holding various events at the Moroso's 2.25 mile road course as well, including an exciting night-time endurance race ... should be fun.
