hartmut's b****
As many of you probably know, I spent a few years working for Hartmut Feyhl over at RENNtech in South Florida. I made a lot of good friends working there, but there's been just too much bad blood (and mental instability) on the part of the ownership there for me to stay on their good side.
All the same, I never bad-mouthed RT on the forums. I never spoke about them at all, actually, unless specifically asked or provoked.
Earlier today, however, someone I introduced myself to responded with "I remember you. You used to be Hartmut's bitch."
:: pauses for dramatic effect ::
This, of course, did not sit well with me.
A short while later, someone sent this little nugget of comedic gold to my inbox. The planets thus aligned, I decided to post it here immediately.
You know how people talk about not burning bridges? This is me fire-bombing those bridges from a Fairchild Republic A-10.
Enjoy!

renntech remote dlm

RENNTECH has updated its multi-processor digital lowering module to make installation and adjustment quicker and easier, with a unique, full-featured remote control.
"This lowering module was all-new in February already," says Hartmut Feyhl, RENNTECH's president and ex technical director at AMG North America. "As always, the module is 100% digital and fully adjustable, with the same microprocessors to communicate with the car's electronics. With the remote control, we have added functions like speed control settings, and the display has made fine adjustments easier."
RENNTCH’s digital lowering module continues to offer individual adjustment for each of the car's four wheels, along with updated processors and the ability to set different heights for different speeds, a check for the latest hardware and firmware versions, and more - with an easy-to-use graphic user interface that works like your favorite MP3 player.
The new, remote-ready digital lowering module is available for all Mercedes-Benz and AMG models with ABC or Airmatic air suspension. Contact RENNTECH for more.

more renntech for bentley

It's my dirty little secret: I love Bentleys.
They're big and fat and lazy and slow ... but I love them in a way that makes the classic SNL "MERCURY MISTRESS" skit make alot of sense, you know? This one has over 625 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, ZERO lag, and the kind of smooth, crisp shifts that make a Speed GT seem like little more than a gussied-up Passat (which it is, in a way). The tuning is by RENNTECH, and the sikk Sikk SIKK rims are from Uberballer.
It's not a Rolls ... but it'll do.

With the introduction of a new, 600+ hp ECU tuning package and digital lowering module, RENNTECH has added Bentley to the growing list of brands it supports.
Best known for its work with Mercedes-Benz and McLaren automobiles, the Florida-based tuning firm is taking the process of introducing new product lines very slowly. Hartmut Feyhl, president of RENNTECH and ex technical director at AMG North America, explains: "We want to be sure that these products meet the high standard set by RENNTECH Mercedes products, which is very high."
RENNTECH has worked under Feyhl's motto of "performance without compromise" since 1989, and every product offered by RENNTECH has to meet Feyhl's strict approval. "Every product has to do something that adds to the performance of the car."
With ECU software boosting the output of Bentley's 552 hp twin-turbo W12 to 625 hp and 565 lb-ft of torque, this is definitely a product that does Something!
In addition to the power-producing ECU upgrade, the RENNTECH digital lowering module for Bentley features microprocessors that constantly communicate with existing on-board systems (unlike other lowering products that "trick" the stock systems and disable the diagnostics). RENNTECH's lowering module allows owners to set the car 50 mm below the stock setting, with 8 levels of adjustability for each of the front and the rear wheels. "Customers can lower the car so it is level, or lower the front more than the rear for a 'raked' look. Some customers might want to lower the rear of the car for more weight transfer at a drag strip. The lowering module lets them do that."
Comparisons to Bentley's own Continental GT Speed (itself offering 600 hp and 553 lb-ft) might seem natural, but RENNTECH is quick to point out that the GT Speed option is not available on the Flying Spur sedan or the GTC, and there are no waiting lists and no dealer markups to contend with (sorry: "market adjustments").
RENNTECH's Bentley ECU software upgrade is available now for $6400US for Bentley Continental and Flying Spur, and $6800US for the GT Speed coupes. RENNTECH digital lowering module available now for $1395US. Contact RENNTECH for more.

v2 renntech lowering module

RENNTECH, the Florida-based tuning house best known for high-horsepower Mercedes-Benz and McLaren tuning packages, recently announced a new 2nd generation digital lowering module for Mercedes and AMG automobiles with ABC and AirMatic suspensions.
"This lowering module is really all-new," says Hartmut Feyhl, RENNTECH's president and ex technical director at AMG North America. "Like our previous lowering modules, this one is 100% digital and fully adjustable, using microprocessors to constantly communicate with the car's electronics. That communication between the lowering module and the electronics makes module extremely accurate, so the end-user can fine-tune the car to get exactly the look they want easily, at any time."
Cutting-edge products like Feyhl's new lowering module blur the lines between the consumer electronics and auto parts industries. "In the last few years, cars have become rolling computers. Even beyond the ECU, the suspension, the transmission, the traction controls and braking systems are all software-driven, and it's essential for all these systems to communicate with one another and work together in harmony. In many cases, tuners must evolve from mechanics into programmers."
Hearing RENNTECH engineers explain their new products in terms of RAM and bit-transfer rates, one gets the feeling Feyhl's crew at RENNTECH became programmers long ago.
RENNTECH's digital lowering module can be installed without splicing into the factory wiring harness. The installer simply configures the port connector according to the provided instructions and plugs it into the system, making the new module a remote-ready, 'plug and play' device.
Faster processors and simplified installations are only part of story, however, as RENNTECH's new module allows for fully independent height adjustments at each wheel (previous units allowed individual adjustment of the front wheels and the adjustment of the rear axle). Each wheel, then, is controlled by a rotary knob with adjustability settings from 1 to 8 that, at their lowest settings, drop the Mercedes almost 2" (50 mm) from stock, and (unlike analog or resistor-based products) is not temperature or humidity sensitive.
Feyhl is confident that "once consumers see the benefits of digital v. analog in these modules, the accuracy and the consistency, it will be just like every other aspect of consumer electronics: the digital products will be the big winners."
RENNTECH's new 2nd. Gen digital lowering module is available now for 1395 USD. Contact RENNTECH for more.
