awesome 80's childhood: m.a.s.k.

First up in my list of influential cartoons that changed my life long before Whitney was even born is M.A.S.K.

This is the one where Matt Trakker's gullwing Camaro (let the awesome nature of the words "gullwing Camaro" sweep over you) sprouted afterburners and flew off into the sky. There was also a pretty Sikk VW Bug that transmogrified into a 4 wheeled street-legal ATV and a a semi-tractor that transformed into a freakin' nuclear launch silo.

Ya, baby! THIS was the super-secret military program you told the other kids your uncle worked for!!

I actually couldn't find any full episodes online (probably a good thing, given the forgiving nature of childhood memory) but did find this totally awesome rock-ballad intro on YouTube.

JO IS ALMOST COMICALLY STUPID, EP.: 8

As a child, I actually explained this show to my long-suffering father as "sort of like the Transformers, but like, more realistic".

EDIT: SAME DAY

Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper to find what you're looking for, you know? Full episodes of M.A.S.K. ARE available online at matt-trakker.com!

CLICK HERE to watch, but be warned: this show is TERRIBLE! If you were a fan of M.A.S.K. at all, then DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW AS AN ADULT.

Otherwise, sit back and - um ... enjoy?
