sikk twin-turbo lada

Next up in the pantheon of Russian crazy that is rapidly becoming a Sunshine hallmark is the absolutely Mad whip above.

This twin-turbo "Gladkov" edition Lada first appeared on Autoblog last week, and perhaps they said it best: "Most of our crew aren't digging the scissor doors, but the intercooler-as-grille idea, well, that's just inspired. And the twin-turbo powertrain? Boffo."

FYI:
This is what it looked like BEFORE.

Crazy, no?

even godzilla gets the blues

This would have been SO PERFECT for Godzilla theme week - ARGH!

This R35 - painted in the same gorgeous R34 blue that made the that car a Gran Turismo favorite - is so splediffic and sectacutastic, in fact, that I may just make every week Godzilla theme week!

Of course, if I did that, I'd be the GTR Blog, and there's already that (Hi, Kris!).

holy freakin hell

Recently, I posted an item about an incredible (albeit, virtual) post-apocalyptic jet-powered buggy titled "Screw Batman, and His Wussy Tumbler". Even though it wasn't fully real, I truly thought it would be years before I saw something so unspeakably badass again.

I was wrong.

So. Very. Wrong.

The 3-wheeled death-tickler above makes the Dark Knight's batpod look like the Barbie Vespa, and is very, Very REAL.

It's called the Blastolene Hemi, and (as the name implies) it is a one-off trike built around a massive, supercharged Hemi V8, and one look at the 240 mph speedo is your first clue that these guys are Serious ...

... the awesome, over-engineered front brake, steering, and suspension systems are the second.

Autoblog just posted a dozen or so hi-res images of this thing. CLICK HERE to see those ... I'm going off to write my Christmas letter to Santa (a little early this year).

jay leno shogun - just in case

Why have something sensible, when you can have something stupid?

That seems to be the prevailing theme today, as I ponder ruining my financial future via GMC Syclone speculation and everyone else I know seems up to their eyeballs in project cars (best one: Dr. Jones' 6.0L Hammer).

In the video above, Leno shows us what can happen when you have a budget big enough for your - um ... dreams?

Was a rear-engined, 220hp 1989 Ford Festiva really someone's dream?

Takes all kinds.

bentley barbie

CarZi recently posted some great pics of Paris Hilton's new Bentley CGT - which has been seriously pink'd by the West Coast Customs guys.

Whatever you think of Paris or pink Bentleys (I'm a fan) you have to admit, she did a thorough job customizing/destroying that car.

The Lady Hilton (HA!) took delivery of the pink GT just in time for Christmas, CLICK HERE for original article (and more pics).

florida is a very strange place

While it's (also) not a supercar, this "Lord Humungus" Isuzu special does indeed hail from sunny South Florida. It's strangely badass, no?
