I think this is it, people.

I know, I know ... I've been prone to hyperbole in the past. Maybe even prone to some straight-up, "watchootokkinboutwillis" bullshit from time to time.

That said, I think it's safe to say that we may have peaked - as a species - when Nintendo brought the original NES to market in 1986.
