it was cold that day ... really

eHARMONY 2.0

Notorious comedy group Improv Everywhere struck the New York City subway system earlier this morning, planting thousands of bottomless adventurers onto a number of random subway trains to make a statement about ... I dunno, genitals?

Best part of the video?

Skip ahead to 0:25 in, when the guy asks everyone involved to "be as respectful as possible, and - you know - try not to rub your genitals on anyone."

YOU CAN DISRESPECT THIS GUY ANYTIME

Gotta hand it to 'em, Improv Everywhere knows how to throw a party.

go ask alice

For the uninitiated, that's Alice.

Alice was far and away the most incredible plot-point of the second Transformers movie, for one simple reason: Any red-blooded American male between the ages of 15 and 35 would betray friends, family, country, and planet for a few minutes alone with Alice.
MEGATRON: Tell you what, kid. You tell me where the secret weapon is, I give you Alice.
SAM: OK, deal (pauses) but I want some kind of extended warranty or service agreement or something, because I am gonna break it.
ROLL CREDITS
AUDIENCE: This movie is much more believable than the first one.

SO, why am I talking about a movie that hit theaters months ago? Revenge of the Fallen concept artist Ben Procter just released a number of previously-unseen design drawings for some of the movie's most memorable characters, including Devastator, the Doctor, and more. What caught my eye, however, was the early Alice concept art, below.

PHOTOSHOP IS KICKASS

The stills at the top of this post are from this great Gizmodo article covering all the CGI work involved in turning Isabel Lucas into Decepticon Pretender Alice - easily one of the most intense (and expensive!) 2 seconds in movie history.

Enjoy!

It's been over a week since Lancia officially released pictures and video of their new Martini Racing yacht - the Lancia di Lancia shown, above. I swooned over simple drawings of the thing, and now that it's here, I find myself - wait for it - at a loss for words.

This new Lancia is 43 feet of pure wet sexy, and it looks as enticing as the covers of Penthouse I'd seen behind the counter at the 7-11 when I was just a kid. I'd glance at them sideways, hoping I didn't draw too much attention to myself. I'd blush if I got "caught". I'd imagine what wonders await me inside.

ODDLY RELEVANT.

Luckily, I'm not 12 anymore, so I can just buy the damned thing if I'm so curious (the magazine, not the Lancia). Also lucky: they've provided me with video of it (the Lancia ... and the magazine, actually!).

Check it out for yourself, below.

Photos from the guys at WorldCarFans, who "talked me down" when the video hit.

Thanks, guys!

Sometimes I feel like a sucker in a strange land.

I was going to stay away from a completely negative rant, but as Aesop's scorpion says, "I'm a scorpion," so rejoice, fellow sociopaths!

Part of being a scorpion involves spending the majority of my college life eating my way around the world and spending daddy's all sorts of money in foreign lands. The fact that I was doing this, instead of "learning" or "acquiring skills", is supported by a mountain of questionable photographs and my laughable current job as a faux-Australian servant-girl.

To compensate for my lack of (useful) education and marketable (legal) job skills, I have experiences. Priceless experiences that led to some wisdom I'd like to share with you now: do not eat any "typical meals" that your hosts prepare for you.

"Typical meals" are great if you've landed somewhere like Tuscany or Paris, but if you're anything like me, then you're a dipshit liberal-arts major and you've decided that "No! The way is to travel the exotic third world, with its strange 'third' spices and 'third' peoples and 'third' currency exchange rates."

Aside: anyone else notice that "third" sounds like "turd"?

In the exotic third world, "typical meals" are chock-full of exotic bacteria, erratically-refrigerated ingredients, and crippling dysentery.

BEEN THERE.

I am fully aware of the sketchy nature of third-world refrigeration. I've walked the quaint, earthy marketplaces. I've seen the sun and the rain and the smog beat down on llama heads, guess-the-animal ribs, and goat scrotums. I've seen a strange pink fluid wiggle its way through a pile of potatoes "displayed" on a dirt floor. Uphill.

It makes for pretty pictures, but if they'd had common sense (imagination?) they'd know an American stomach isn't accustomed to that sh*t.

Why would they serve me llama gasbag soup!?

Worse yet: Every time I was presented with a new gastronomic adventure, my hosts would delight in making me eat it. I was guilted into it by their exotic third world smiles.

Some of these dishes even sound made-up. Guinea pig? Really!?

Really.

I've come to believe that these exotic third world natives are either completely daffy, or it's all some sort of vast, passive-aggressive class war conspiracy. I immediately took ill after finding meat with fur stuck to it and a strange honey-combed bit of matter in that afternoon's stew. I carried that illness all the way home, and I could still hear their exotic third world laughter.

Now, after careful consideration and multiple degrees in anthropology and world literature, I have finally decided what I think of the third world: I want revenge.

See plan, below.

The next time someone visits me from some hideous third world rat-hole like Nicaragua, Bolivia, or Detroit, I'm going to serve up a typical 'Murican First World meal. Something heinous, like wet burger sliders with slimy onions and tongue-bubbling hot wings ... and I am going to make. Them. Eat. It.

I will make them eat it because it is truth, justice, and the American Way, and because those bastards have it coming.

This picture was taken a few weeks ago to commemorate the first time we had ever been to White Castle. That's my feasting face there, with me clutching several pounds of White Castle goodies.

We were halfway through a hideous drive back home from Detroit when we saw the white battlements glowing through the rain (it was raining). The rain stopped as we parked, and we took it as a sign of wonderful things to come because we were tired and we were starving and we were finally going to eat at White Castle.

White Castle, maaan! (say it like Tommy Chong)

Never mind the bullet-proof glass shielding the register. Ignore the hideous mullet on meth steaming something beyond. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, because you are hungry and it smells fantastic like food.

We bought classic steamed hamburger and cheeseburger sliders, but there was more. MUCH MORE! There were pork sliders and chicken sliders and fish sliders and - WTF!? - a double-stacked "surf and turf" slider!!?

SURF N' TURF / GROTESQUE N' LOVELY

We bought 'em all, and scurried back to the van with our perfect road trip food.

There was something magical about buying the teeny weeny burgers from a castle. Opening the cute packaging was fun, and we just KNEW that this, this was going to be delicious.

We took the first bites together.

I had never felt this way about a burger before. Why the hell would someone sell me a Goddamned wet burger!? The bread, the onions, the "meat" ... everything was soggy. The cheese on the cheeseburger oozed off. The chicken wasn't. Etc. The only thing I could eat was the pork sliders, but I'll eat anything with BBQ sauce on it, so that doesn't count!

I'd been deceived! Who had told me that White Castle was delicious? Why had no one sent me this video?

Something horrible happens when you're starving and stuck with bad food, though. You know it's bad and you know it's going to make you sick, but you I eat it anyway.

The whole experience left me wondering whether Harold and Kumar would actually get off the couch for these things. I came up with "No. They would not."

But f*** those stoners! Why had I gone to White Castle?

I'd had the frozen White Castle sliders, which we'd toasted in our little oven. They were tasty, and they look good in the advertisements, but nothing had prepared me for the fact that "real" sliders were steamed, except maybe that Harold and Kumar were retarded fictional potheads.

What the f*** kind of meat was that, anyway!? Never again, 'Roldy.

Never. Again.

my website sucks ... so does yours

No matter who you are, you must admit that Michael Bay's Transformers movies have hit upon a winning formula. That being:

BOOBIES + EXPLOSIONS = AWESOME

With that, I give you the best website ever: Explosions and Boobs.

Really.

Thank you, Geekologie.

sometimes you can tell early

The little bird up there sure has plenty to say - but she's about 18 years too young for me to find any of it the least bit charming (at LEAST 18 years, your honor).

Can't you just picture the poor guy who ends up married to THAT? Probably killed twenty million people in a past life.
